Tutor Profile

Dr Alison Wade-Evans has been directly involved in scientific research since 1980 and has been a private tutor for five years, with a current CRB certificate. She, also, has experience of teaching English to Spanish students at summer school. Her continued involvement in research, as a consultant, enables her to introduce some of the excitement of applied science, in support of the national curriculum, when and where appropriate.

She adopts a holistic approach to tutoring whenever possible, the content, style and speed of which are adapted to suit individual needs. Assessing the rate at which a student to able to assimilate information is a skill that is an essential part of effective tuition.

She is an excellent communicator, who can relate to pupils of almost any age and ability and is highly skilled at making people feel at ease. She is also an ambassador for developing an effective pupil, tutor and parent relationship, so that the needs and expectations of all concerned are addressed and met as fully as possible.

An important characteristic of her approach, is to provide continuous feedback on progress, to both pupils and their parents, so that the effectiveness of the tuition quickly becomes clear and can be rapidly adjusted, if necessary, to achieve the most favourable results.
